When you visit the polls on Election Day, Tuesday, November 2, 2021, you will see an emergency renewal levy on the ballot for Shelby City Schools. If passed, the renewal levy will generate approximately $950,000 per year (5% of the district’s operating budget) to help fund the day-to-day operations of our schools.
Thanks to funding from similar levies, we were able to obtain resources needed to educate the students of Shelby when Governor Mike DeWine closed the doors of Ohio school buildings in March of 2020. We learned first-hand the importance of the solid fiscal foundation the Shelby taxpayers have built by renewing this levy.
Please note, if passed, this levy will NOT provide funding for construction and renovation projects. The district is allocating the Rover Pipeline tax payments to the district’s construction projects.
Providing quality education at a great value is one of our top priorities. The passage of this renewal levy would supply funding to provide resources for everyday operations such as teachers, utilities, textbooks and supplies.
