Hello Coach Nelson,

Our daughter, Hailey Stamper, received a generic form letter on Monday informing her that she unfortunately did not make the 7th grade volleyball team. This letter did not provide us or our child with any constructive criticism as to why she was not chosen for the 7th grade team. It did not provide a reason at all.

Hailey is a multi-sport athlete and has played Mojo Volleyball for the past three years. We are aware of Hailey’s skill level and talent, so we are asking at this time for feedback and specific reasons you chose not to put Hailey on the 7th grade team.

Your feedback with specific items as to why Hailey was not chosen is needed because we have a 12-year-old child who just does not understand your choices. We would also like your feedback so we can provide the information to Hailey in case she chooses to show an interest in volleyball in the future so she can work to improve her skills. At this time, we have a defeated, upset 12-year-old child thinking she is not good enough, which we all know is not the case. Hailey deserves more than a form letter decision as to why she cannot play 7th grade school volleyball with her friends. Unfortunately, with the letter you provided we cannot give our daughter the answers she needs.

Thank you for your time today and we look forward to your hearing from you.
