Dear Shelby City School District,
I am currently an Early Childhood Education and Intervention Specialist student at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, OH. For my Honors 455 research project, I will be conducting a study entitled The Effect of Elementary School Mental Health Services Availability on Special Education Referrals and Services. The purpose of this quantitative study is to see if there is a correlation between the presence of school-based mental health services and referral and identification rates for special education. I am contacting you to request your help in gathering information for a survey. Your assistance in this study would be greatly appreciated.
The survey may be completed by the district superintendent, special education director, or building principal. One survey response is needed per elementary building.
