August 7, 2026

Dear Shelby Families,

Welcome to the 2026/2027 school year. The first official day for students in grades 1-12 is Tuesday, August 18th. On Wednesday, August 19th, our PM  Pre-K students will enter the classrooms for the first time, and on August 20th, our AM Pre-K students will enter for the first time. Both AM and PM will be on campus on August 24th. On Thursday, August 20th, Group-A Kindergarten students will begin, followed by Group-B Kindergarten on Friday, August 21st. These are exciting times, and I look forward to seeing our students, teachers, and support staff back in the buildings for the start of the new school year.

Our theme for this year is “Back to Basics,” which simply means we want to focus on skills that help students with reading, writing, and math so they can be successful in all other subject areas. We also need your help getting students to school each day so our amazing staff can prepare them for the futures they deserve.

Each Shelby building will host an open house for parents and students to meet teachers, pick up schedules, walk the halls, and practice opening their lockers for older students. Below is a list of dates and times when Open Houses will take place:
